The Opportunity

We’re seeking experienced IB English tutors to join our network of education professionals. As a freelance tutor with us, you’ll deliver engaging online lessons to IB Diploma students preparing for various IB English exams, while enjoying the flexibility of remote work and managing your own schedule. Currently, we have vacancy for the following positions that require specific expertise: 

  • IB English Ab Initio Tutor
  • IB English B (SL/HL) Tutor
  • IB English A Language & Literature (SL/HL) Tutor  
  • IB English A Literature (SL/HL) Tutor
  • IB English Literature & Performance Tutor

Role & Responsibilities

Teaching:
  • Provide a free 25-min trial class to prospective students.
  • Assess the student’s level and needs during the trial class.
  • Teach private one-on-one and semi-private classes online.
  • Deliver customised lessons that address individual student goals.
  • Expertly guide students through the core components of the exam.
  • Provide detailed feedback on student writing and oral presentations.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment that builds student confidence.
Administrative:
  • Submit Trial Class Report after conducting a trial class.
  • Update Class Report in Google Drive after each class.

Requirements

Academic
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in English, Literature, Education, Philosophy, Creative Writing, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as TESOL or CELTA.
  • At least 2 years of English teaching or tutoring experience, with a proven track record in the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Tertiary education in a top-tier university.
  • Familiarity with IB curriculum and assessment criteria is essential.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English, with native ability.
  • Ability to demystify complex literary concepts.
Non-academic
  • Mature and responsible.
  • Healthy physically and mentally.
  • Open minded and culturally sensitive.
  • Positive attitude and able to motivate students.
  • Creative, fun and energetic.
  • Non-confrontational and uncomplicated.
  • Presentable, hardworking and polite.
  • Able to commit to a regular weekly schedule.
  • Fast and responsive with email and phone messages.
Technical
  • Proficient with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Teams, Meet).
  • Proper work space (quiet and tidy surrounding).
  • Stable, high-speed internet connection (for video calls).

Remuneration

  • Competitive hourly rate based on student level and class size.
  • Payment transferred to your account on 28th of the month.
